I received the first proof of Jacqueline, the Elven Queen today!

New release date is April. It is harder than I thought to have 2 kids, write, and a full time job. Hopefull in a month I will have more time to write! I am also trying my hand at a young adult mystery/thriller, an adult mystery thriller, and a science fiction short story for a magazine. We will see how I do and if they turn out ok. My new book should have a cover within a month. It should be edited, at least teh first edit finished by the end of September. The second edit will be finished by mid-October. Hoping to put th ebook out by the end of October.

self-publishing

If you are thinking about self-publishing, read J.A. Konrath's blog. He has helped me out a lot. Everything I have read about self-publishing says you have to be have patience, and the more you write the better your chances are.  I understand how you have to have patience.  This is a long process and takes a lot of time and effort.  I would like to say thank you to those who have helped.

I am currently looking into doing a book club at the library over the summer and doing a signing at Borders.  I will keep you posted if you are interested in either!

Possibilities for summer

Just found out there is a chance I will be doing some readings or a book club at some local libaries to promote my book!  I will keep you posted about it in case you would like to join me.

Book Sales

I read an article about self-publishing.  It talks about having patiences with self-publishing and that it takes more time for people to see your book or books and begin reading them.  This is what hinders most self-published authors.  I completely understand this.  It has only been 3 weeks for book my ebook and paperback.  I have sold 70 copies total.  This should be a good starting point, but I feel anxious about whether or not this will roll into more.  We will see.

Second book should be out in the fall.  I will post within a month or two what the title will be.

The paper back should debut by April 28, 2011.  Read a Ray Bradbury interview and he discussed how he needed to get an office because when it came down to playing with his kids or working his kids won.  I know the feeling.  Although I didn't write a Fahrenheit 451.
